Albert L. Holzer

Albert L. Holzer was born July 27, 1929 in Trail City, SD. He was the 6th of 9 children born to Clara (Schmidt) and Anton Holzer. He passed away Thursday, February 11 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. He attended school in Trail City, SD. Albert was in the United States Army stationed at Fort Smith, AR. He was honorably discharged in 1951 for medical reasons. On November 22, 1954 he married Beverly Prann at Holy Cross Church in Timber Lake, SD. They were blessed with five children over the years. Albert worked as a heavy equipment operator helping to build roads in both the Dakotas and Montana. Albert and Beverly lived in Chandler, AZ from 1989-1996 before moving to Ozark, MO in 1996. Albert was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. He enjoyed being a member of the Knights of Columbus for many years and helped in the kitchen for many of their events. He lived next door to his oldest son Alan and his family. His grandson, Cody, attended Ozark schools and was very active in many sports. Albert enjoyed attending them all. He enjoyed traveling to visit his other grandchildren several times a year. Albert loved to cook and made sure everyone had more than enough to eat. He loved music and attending daily mass at St. Joseph's Worker Church. Albert is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers Paul, Pete and Art and one sister, Irene. He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Beverly Holzer. He leaves behind his five children and their spouses who will miss him dearly. Alan and Vicky Holzer, Ozark, MO, Bob and Vivian Holzer, Bismarck, ND, Carole and Terry Dagnon, Highlands Ranch, CO, Janet and Eric Grose, Bastrop, TX and Duane and Nancy Holzer, Sioux Falls, SD. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at St Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Ozark, Missouri, with Rosary to be held from 5:30-7:30 pm Monday February 15 at the Church. The family has requested memorial contributions to be made to St Joseph the Worker Catholic Church.
