Bill Mann

William (Bill) E. Mann, age 90, of Nixa, MO passed away February, 4, 2018 at Cox South Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Britt, Iowa, January 4, 1928, the son of the late Ivan and Mary O'hern Mann. Bill married Pearl Maxine Petersen of Rockwell, Iowa and they were happily married for 40 years. He was a veteran of the US Army and US Air Force, retiring from the Air Force at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant/First Sergeant in 1970 at Luke AFB, Arizona. After USAF retirement, he lived in Rockwell, Iowa for several years before moving to Forsyth, MO in 1976. Bill was the General Manager of the Best Western Branson Inn for several years before retiring to Arizona where he enjoyed golf and an active lifestyle. In 2006, he was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome. He lived between Arizona and Missouri for years before returning home to Missouri in the last months of his life to be near family and friends. Bill cherished his family and time spent with them. Bill was a wonderful man who was loved by many. He was a man of integrity and his family depended on him greatly for his wisdom and unconditional love. Survivors include four children and their spouses: Mike and Nina Mann of Kimberling City, Cindy and Dean Losee of Nixa, Jan and Jim Lile of Strafford, and Tony and Melissa Mann of Nixa; five grandchildren: Christopher Mann and his wife Jessica of Battlefield, Brian Losee of Portland, OR, Jennifer Mann of Ozark, Morgan and Ryan Mann of Nixa; two great grandchildren, Brianna Mann of Ozark, and Xander Mann of Battlefield. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his wife Pearl, and sister Patsy Swyter. Graveside services with military honors will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Springfield National Cemetery, 1702 E. Seminole, Springfield, MO with Pastor Dennis Miller officiating.
