Carol A. Lersch

Carol Ann Lersch, age 72, went to be with our Lord Friday, December 9, 2016. She was surrounded by her loving family. Carol battled COPD for many years. She was born November 6, 1944 in St. Joseph, MI to Russ and Arlene (Mitchell) Hill. Carol married her best friend, Jim Lersch, in St. Joseph, MI February 23, 1980, celebrating 36 years of marriage. She had a sense of humor that brightened the lives of everyone around her. Carol had a love for family, friends and neighbors that knew no bounds. She welcomed everyone and her personality shone like the brightest star. Carol will live in our hearts forever. Carol is preceded in death by her parents; and a brother Duane Hill. Carol is survived by her husband Jim; sons Dane Lersch, his husband Wayne; Matt Lersch, his wife Sarah; daughter Stephanie Powers; two grandchildren Haley and Miles; and her loving dog, Bailey, a Bichon Frise. Carol's wish was to be cremated. There will be a celebration of life ceremony in the spring. Special thanks to the staff at Mercy Hospital who cared for her with such care and passion.
