Charles Donelow

Charles Donelow Jr., age 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 30, 2018 at his home in Nixa, Missouri. Born on April 17, 1936, Charles Jr. was the son of the late Charles and Annie (Underwood) Donelow and was preceded in death by his brothers Oscar, Percy, and Robert. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at age seventeen and proudly served aboard the USS Douglas H. Fox. He remained an active member of many veteran and service organizations throughout his life. Charles also worked many years as a railroad engineer and a truck driver before his retirement. He will be missed by family and friends for his practical opinion and humorous wit. Charles is survived by three children: Chuck Donelow, Betsy King, and Lisa Baxter; eight grandchildren: Chucky Donelow Jr., Timothy Donelow, Lydia, Katie, and Steven King, Stacy, Adam, and Tabatha Baxter; and six great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at Springfield National Cemetery on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 11:00 am.
