Helen Virginia Tate

Helen Virginia (Rantz) Tate, of Spokane, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016 following a sudden heart attack. She was born April 5, 1935 in Whittier, California, the daughter of Lex and Hazel (Harris) Rantz. In 1951 she and Bob Tate were united in marriage. Helen was a beautician both in Wichita and Springfield. She was a skilled home decorator, and had been co-owner of Little Red Wagon in Ozark. Helen loved her family and they enjoyed her home cooked meals. She enjoyed farming and the cattle. Fishing was a favorite past time. Helen was a member of Spokane First Baptist Church. Survivors include: Her husband Bob; a son Larry Tate of Spokane; five grandchildren, Joshua Tate, Benjamin Tate, Ryan Tate, Matthew Tate and Amanda Bonzer; six great-grandchildren, Paige Tate, J.D. Tate, Hudson Bonzer, London Bonzer, Veneta Tate, and Bennet "Dude" Tate; a sister, Alice Harrington; two brothers, Loyd Dean Rantz, and Bobby Rantz; other relatives and many friends. Helen was preceded in death by a son, Charles Perry Tate, and her parents. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, May 14, at Spokane First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Spokane Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 6:00 PM Friday in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
