Janice Jaeger

d. April 9, 2016

Life includes both birth and death as the year includes both spring and winter. Spring comes gradually, sprout by sprout, and bud by bud. A swelling along the maple twigs and spikes of daffodil or crocus in the early mornings. It's an unfolding, an evolutionary event. And as the winter dies, the spring rejoices in the resurrection of life that abounds in beautiful glory. Janice Leigh Newton was born in the spring of 1953 and always rejoiced in the coming of that season. She loved it. She loved the cherry blossoms, and the blooming lilacs, and the robin's song. She loved the dirt. She played in it every chance she got, and grew things out of it. Beautiful things and delicious things. And now, as her winter has come and gone…….we call it cancer and death……..her spring has arrived and she sits beside the Maker of all things and rejoices with her Savior in glorious beauty. She was born in the small town of Mountain Grove, Missouri on May 5th……surrounded by rolling hills, great little fishing spots, and her grandfather's polled Hereford ranch. Her parents, Warren Eugene Newton and Hilma Maxine (Charlie) Paul Newton passed away years ago even though it seemed like yesterday to her. She is survived by her two children, daughter Jenifer Jaeger Brown, her husband Doug, and kids Jacob and Jessie all of Rogersville, Missouri; and son Jack (JJ) Jaeger, his wife Jennifer, and kids Ben and Abbey of Terre Haute, Indiana. Jan's brothers and sister still survive as well: Jerry, Terri, Billy, and Steve. She was many things in her life, but her life was never her occupation. She had many friends and she had lots of people who loved her immensely. She was a mother who had to make VERY tough decisions along the way and always tried to do the best for her kids. She was stubborn, and a true grit fighter. She never gave in to the easy road, and always tried to look on the bright side. She died on a Sunday…..this April 10th…… smack dab in the middle of spring. But that same day she was born again. Without pain, without suffering, without cancer. Her new body is beautiful and she sings in the choruses to her Christ. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 16th at the First Baptist Church in Rogersville, Missouri. Visitation will be from 2 to 3pm, with a very short service following.
