Jill Morrison

July 19, 1975 — December 8, 2016

Jill Dianne Morrison, 41, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. Born in Springfield, Mo, on July 19, 1975, to Clyde and Robbie (Eoff) Heavin. Jill graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1993, and earned her Bachelor's degree in Textiles and Manufacturing from Southwest Missouri State University thereafter. Jill married Travis Morrison on April 3, 1999 at Kansas Expressway Church of Christ, Springfield, Mo. Together, she and Travis filled their lives with love, friendships, and activities with their twins, Elijah and Claudia, 11. Along with Travis, Elijah, and Claudia, Jill is also survived by parents Clyde and Robbie Heavin; brother Ty Heavin and wife, Susie (Springfield); father and mother-in-Law Dave and Mary Morrison (Gainesville), sister-in-law, Janet, and husband Billy Lane (Dallas, TX); one nephew Cody Heavin; three nieces Brooke Heavin, Kristian Lane, and Rubi Lane; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Elliot. Jill's life was spent in service to her family, friends, community, and church. In her love for Christ, Jill shared her spirit through her many talents in selling Tupperware and building her own sewing business. Jill's happiness came from her work with and for others. You could find her cooking and counseling children at Happy Hollow Bible Camp. Teaching 4-H children to sew, serving students and teachers as a volunteer for the Ash Grove Elementary PTA. Teaching bible classes or helping in the nursery at Water Mill Church of Christ, and ministering to others on numerous mission trips abroad and close to home. She sought, above all, to build positive and meaningful connections in her relationships, and to create an honest, loving environment within her home. For these things and more, she will be missed. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on December 17, 2016, at Water Mill Church of Christ located at 3020 N. Barnes Springfield, Mo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be sent to Happy Hollow Bible Camp and/or Fair Haven Children's Home. Donations can be sent in care of the Water Mill Church of Christ.
