Joann Ewing Mackay

Joann Ewing Mackay, age 84, of Nixa, passed away Monday, September 15, 2014, in Ozark Riverview Manor. She was born June 24, 1930 in Fordland, the daughter of John Hutson Ewing and Mildred Williams Ewing. Joann started her career with the Springfield Police Department. She moved to Los Angeles where she worked in the legal department for Boeing Aircraft and also worked for the FBI. After 50 years, Joann returned to the Ozarks. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Sam Ewing and a sister, Nancy Maggard. Joann is survived by three sisters, Mary June Applegate and husband Gene of Chadwick, Jane Smoot of Nixa, and Judy Walker of Sparta; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. A memorial service will be 10:00 AM Saturday, September 20, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Bally Johnson officiating.
