Koula Pitchford

Koula Pitchford, age 78, of Nixa, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018. She was born August 7, 1939 in St. Louis, the daughter of John and Mary Orphan. She was united in marriage to Billy Dean Pitchford who preceded her in death in 1991. Koula retired from Fasco after serving as office secretary for many years. Her passion was her kids and grandkids, always attending their activities and giving support to them. She was a wonderful cook for family and friends, loved gardening, and travel. "Koula, Mom, Best Friend, she was all of these to us and to all that had the blessing to know Mom. She was a mother to four kids and a wife to Bill, as well as a mother to all. Koula was honest and had a heart of gold with open arms and an open door to her home." Survivors include: four children, Burt Pitchford and wife Sherri of Colorado, Cynthia Pitchford of Arkansas, Mark Pitchford of Ozark, and Hope Smith and husband John of Nixa; four grandchildren, Chase, Nathan, Jacob and Sierra; two step-grandchildren, Clint and Jake; one great-grandchild, Holly Louise; two sisters, Ann Peterson, and Penny Chesnut and husband David; two brothers, George Orphan and wife Carol, and Chris Orphan and wife Lois; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, January 14, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial will follow in McCauley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 - 5:00 PM Saturday, January 13, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Missouri State Foundation, Attn: Speech Therapy, 300 S. Jefferson, Suite 100, Springfield, MO 65806.
