Leta Jean Martin

Leta Jean Martin, age 82, of Nixa, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014. She was born July 23, 1931 in Wright County. On November 26, 1974 she and Frank Martin were married. Mrs. Martin worked for Home Parental Services from 1987 until her retirement in 2006. She was valued and much love by both co-workers and those she served. At the time of her retirement she had worked for HPS longer than anyone else. Mrs. Martin had been a member of Riverdale Baptist Church since 1974. She loved her family and grandchildren and enjoyed gardening. Survivors include: Two daughters, Jean Rippee and husband Tom of Elkland, and Joan Bass and husband Randy of Battlefield; a step-son, Bob Martin and wife Judith of Nixa; grandchildren, Sam Bass and wife LaComa of Nixa, and Daniel Bass of California; and step-grandson Trevor Martin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank in 1982, a step-son Kevin, and her parents. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Monday, March 10, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Pastor Jamie Bilyeu officiating. Burial will follow in Patterson Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until service time on Monday. Memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to Riverdale Baptist Church, 549 W. Riverdale Road, Nixa, MO 65714.
