Marjorie Ann Gentzke, age 83, of Nixa, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014. She was born September 20, 1930 in LA Porte, IN, to William F. and Katherine (Peterson) Rutz. Marjorie completed her Master's Degree in Education at the University of Tennessee, at Nashville. Marjorie taught elementary school for 18 years in Tennessee and Missouri. Marjorie was united in marriage to Reverend Robert W. Gentzke, June 7, 1952, in Trinity Lutheran Church, Westville, IN. Marjorie was a wonderful Pastor's wife and mother. She spent her life serving the Lord, alongside Robert. Marjorie loved her family dearly, and enjoyed their company. Marjorie enjoyed painting with water colors, and caring for her home and family. Marjorie is survived by her daughters Phyllis McGrady, and her husband Michael, Patricia Tallon, and her husband Richard, and Sharon Zinke, and her husband Alan; grandchildren Travis McGrady, and his wife Heather, Cassie Foreman, and her husband Doug, Kyle McGrady, and his wife Karen, and Tyler McGrady, and his wife Tammy, Grant Tallon, and his wife Jackie, Alyssa Burns, and her husband David, Mandy and Holly Zinke; Brandon, Eric, Katie and Ashley Gentzke; great grandchildren Wesley, Sara, and Austin McGrady, Jacob, Anna, Emma Foreman, and Elsa McGrady. Marjorie was preceded in death by her mother and father; Robert, her husband of 58 years, and a son Bruce Gentzke. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Springfield. A visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M, Tuesday, April 22, 2014, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Memorial donations may be made to the Redeemer Lutheran Church Building Fund.
