Marjory Rae Peine was born on June 30th, 1930, in Leoti, Kansas. She passed away May 19, 2017. Marjory was the third of 11 children. Surviving are two sisters Vera Ford of Leoti, Kansas and Bonny Weaver of Tucumcari, New Mexico; two brothers Milton Riddiough of Scott City, Kansas and Robert Riddiough of Macon Georgia; Marjory was united in marriage to John Herman Peine in 1948 and together they raised seven surviving children John, Arthur, Richard, Ronald, Gregory, Debbie and Patricia. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grand-children and one great-great-granddaughter Marjory started working early in life as all did in those days. One of her first jobs was at the International Harvester Dealership in Leoti. From there she moved on to work at the local Hardware Store. A few years after she and John were married they moved to Missouri. They lived in Cabool where she worked for Sunny Hill Poultry and was a full time mother of a growing family. The next move brought them to Clever, and then on to the community of Nixa. Their family grew as did the city of Nixa. They first lived on the west side of town on Market Street behind what was then Nixa High School. While living there she worked for Consumers Hardware in Springfield. They then moved to a farm on the east side of Nixa which is now part of Tiffany Hills Estates. Marjory changed jobs and began working for Fasco Industries in Ozark. In 1968 she and John bought a small farm on the northwest side of Nixa which remained her home until moving to town. Marjory was a loving and caring person who took in several young ones while they got their lives back on track. She was a member of Union Hill Church of Christ. She was a long time member of VFW Post 6758 holding several of the auxiliary offices, and was a member American Legion Post 434 Auxiliary until her health caused her to cut back on civic duties. Marjory will be laid to rest with her husband in Springfield National Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 3, 2017 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with visitation starting at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
