Rodney Lee Van Sandt

Rodney Lee Van Sandt, age 52, of Nixa, left this earth to be with God, Saturday, June 28, 2014. He was born June 27, 1962 in Tulare, CA, and grew up in Miami, OK. He graduated from Miami High School in 1980, and moved to Nixa in 1999. During this time Rod worked for C&L Supply, in Springfield, as a Branch Manager, and was there for 21 years until his passing. Rod was a diehard Bears fan and loved the Cubs. He was an enthusiastic sports fan, and was always on top of the current games. Rod was outgoing and fun to be around. Rod fought the good fight all the way to the end. Rod is survived by his parents Glenn and Sandra Van Sandt; three sisters Sandi Leigh Bertaux, Cheryl Loy and husband Bruce, and Tami Dean and husband Mike; one brother David Van Sandt and his wife Andrea; and his fianc� Joni Copeland; and Joni's daughters Rebecca and Kelly. Rod is preceded in death by his grandparents Clarence and Suzie Van Sandt, and Jack and Lucille Sharpensteen. A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, July 2, 2014 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, July 3, 2014, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rosedale Valley Memorial Gardens, Nixa. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
