Wallace David Rosser

June 28, 1925 — May 23, 2014

Wallace David Rosser, age 88, passed away Friday, May 23, 2014, in North Park Village Assisted Living in Ozark. He was born June 28, 1925, in Long Beach, California, the son of Levi David Rosser and Seneth Elizabeth (Moodie) Rosser. On June 26, 1948 he and Frances Mariel Shine were united in marriage. Mr. Rosser served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps 486th Bomb Group, Sudbury England, during World War II, as a ball turret gunner on the B-17 "American Beauty". A mechanical Engineer, Mr. Rosser worked in the oil refinery business of Dresser Industries, now Halliburton. Survivors include: his daughter, Sherilyn Weter and husband Ray, of Fremont Hills; three grandchildren, Erin Clayman and husband Phil, of Highlandville, Nathan Weter of Fremont Hills, and Andy Weter of Cape Cod, Massachusetts; a sister, Beth Rosser Miller of Vista, California; two brothers, Horton "Cotton" Rosser of Marysville, California, and Neil Rosser of Pasadena, California; his high school Sweetheart, Phyllis Michelson and her family, of Ridgefield, Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances, in 1998, after 50 years of marriage; a son, Glen David Rosser; a sister, Barbara Rosser Bell; and a brother Hadden Rosser. A graveside funeral will be 2:00 PM Friday, June 27, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, with full military honors. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
