Clara Cornett

Clara Juanita Cornett, age 84, of Nixa, passed away December 29, 2017. She was born September 29, 1933 in Butler, Oklahoma, the daughter of Frank W. and Emma (Lachman) Bowser. On March 25, 1950 she and Ewell Ross Cornett were married. After 23 years of marriage, Ewell preceded Clara in death. On November 14, 1974 she and Joe Wayne Cornett were united in marriage. He preceded Clara in death on March 27, 2017. Clara was also preceded in death by a son, Gary Lee Cornett, a brother, Dr. Edwin Bowser and her parents. Throughout her working career Clara was a lab assistant for Sunkist, a farmer and a seamstress for a sporting goods manufacturer. Clara loved hummingbirds, flowers and the Missouri countryside. She was especially fond of roses. Survivors include: Her children, Peggy Kubicek and husband John, Nixa; Lyle Cornett, Billings; Linda Richardson, Springfield; Ernest Cornett and wife Janet, Republic; and Dolores Williams and husband Harvey, Springfield; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, January 6, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Burial will be 2:00 PM Saturday in Bado Cemetery, Texas County. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association or MDA.
