Cornelius A. Brummel

Cornelius A. "Casey" Brummel, age 85, of Nixa, MO, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Christian Health Care Rehabilitation Center. Casey was born November 4, 1928, in Platte, SD to Herman and Grace (Pranger) Brummel. Casey resided in Sioux City, Iowa for many years. He was a retired insurance agent who enjoyed the outdoors, wildlife, fishing, Senior Center activities, playing pool and cards. Above all, he loved golf, and spending time with his family. He was a Christian man and was very strong in his faith. Casey is survived by his spouse, Dr. Gwen Brummel; his three children, Micki (Oscar) Hurst, of Tuscaloosa, AL, Chris (Carl) Parker, of Omaha, NE, and Darren and his wife Kristi Brummel, of Nixa, MO; his four grandchildren, Phillip, Britny, Courtnie,and Isaiah; one great grandchild, Lennon; his brother, Ryland and his wife Jan; and two sisters Jan Klooster, and Thedis DeWhitt. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Harold Brummel. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 17, 2014, at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, MO.
