Donald Wayne Dinwiddie, age 60, of Springfield, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017. He was born November 28, 1956 in Independence, MO, the youngest of nine children born to Anderson and Georgia Reba (Terry) Dinwiddie. He served his country both in the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy. On April 26, 1975 he and Dacia Elizabeth Bender were married.
Donald worked as a mechanic. He also was a school bus drive for Conway, where he served as a volunteer fire fighter. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and billiards. He and his children spent time with remote control cars. He was a joker and he made everyone feel welcome. Even after his death he showed how giving he was by donating his organs.
Survivors include: Four children, Jeremy Dinwiddie of Buffalo, Ronald Dinwiddie and Heather of Springfield, Cathy Wright and Reymond of Elkland, and Joseph Dinwiddie and Kari of Lebanon; twelve grandchildren, Dakota, Danielle, Samson, R.J., Kayli, Amaya, Adie, Brysn, Gabriel, Mia, Kai, and Knox; brothers and sisters, Jim and Jolene of Florida, Fred and Linda, Jerry and Connie, Mike and Jerri Kay, and Ronnie and Mary, all of Missouri, and Connie Sue and Kerry of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Donna and Rebecca.
A graveside service at Springfield National Cemetery will be Friday, October 13, at 11:00 AM.
