Dovie Lee Starnes

Dovie Lee Starnes, age 78, of Ozark, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 in Ozark Riverview Manor. She was born January 7, 1936 in Reeds Spring, one of 10 children of Edward and Anna Mae (Maggard) Perkins. Dovie and John Starnes were united in marriage and together had four children. Dovie was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Ozark. She loved and cared for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed making quilts for the family. A good game of bingo was often a highlight of her day. Survivors include: Four children and their spouses Beverly and Tom Talty of Billings, Shirley and Wendol Barnett of Ozark, Johnnie and Melissa Starnes of Ozark, and Joseph and June Starnes of Ozark; ten grandchildren, Lacey Powell and husband Chuck and their sons Codey and Colton, LeAnn Barnett and her son Jeremiah, Torie Jones, Michael Barnett, Will and Arah Starnes, Hillary Talty, Tucker Starnes, Matthew Talty, and Hannah Talty; a sister, Elevena Culey of Kansas City Kansas; other relatives and many good friends. Dovie was preceded in death by her parents, step-father Joe Gunn, and eight brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 29, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Bob Long officiating. Burial will follow in Owens Cemetery, Bruner. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 pm Tuesday in the funeral home.
