Eileen Marie Newell

February 2, 1944 — March 25, 2017

Eileen Marie Newell (Fairchild), 73, of Ash Grove, rose to victory in Christ on March 25, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Chesapeake Baptist Church, Jay Hill officiating. Eileen was born in St. Charles, MO to Raymond Fairchild and Jeannette Fairchild (LeBlanc) on February 2, 1944. She went to grade school at Borromeo and graduated St. Charles High School. Eileen worked in various jobs including assembly at Watlow Electric. She married Vernon Newell on November 21, 1964 and she became a dedicated wife and mother of two children. She sewed dresses and other clothes, baked sweet treats at least twice a week, made sure there was hot food on the table, cleaned the house everyday, and read stories to the kids. Most importantly, she prayed for her family and made sure her children knew Jesus. Eileen was a longtime resident of St. Charles, MO and a member of Highland View Baptist Church. Later, she enjoyed being a member of Chesapeake Baptist Church in Chesapeake, MO. She also enjoyed spending her last years in the Mt. Vernon area. She liked that people care about each other and agreed with the good Christian values. She loved the wildlife, especially turkeys, and never failed to notice a beautiful sky. Eileen is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Jeannette Fairchild, and her sister, Kay Fairchild. Eileen is survived by her husband, Vernon, her son, John Newell (Jacquelyn), her daughter Amy Newell, her brothers David Fairchild (Linda), Thomas Fairchild, and James Fairchild, and three grandchildren, Hannah Newell, Amanda Newell, and Aaron Newell, and a special niece, Chrystal Gonzalez. Memorials may be given to Ronald McDonald House.
