Georgia Carter White

December 23, 1925 — October 2, 2016

Georgia (Carter) White, age 90, of Springfield, passed away at The Fremont in Springfield, Sunday, October 2, 2016. She was born December 23, 1925 in Peele, Arkansas, the daughter of Hugh and Stella (Weaver) King. She attended Liberty Elementary School (one room) and graduated from Highlandville High School. Georgia was baptized at the age of 13 in Woods Fork Creek. On March 25, 1945 she and Guy Carter were married. Georgia worked as Executive Secretary for the Wichita, Kansas Board of Education, retiring in 1986 after 29 years of service. In 1993 Georgia returned to this area following Guy's death in 1991. In 1993 she and Dal John White were married. He preceded her in death in 2007. Georgia was member of Southgate Baptist Church in Springfield. Survivors include: Two children, Greg Carter and wife Curvine of Highlandville, and Sue Blevins and husband Joel of Garrison; grandchildren, Amber Abrahamson, Heather Carter, T.J. Carter, Summer Kuehner, Kimberly Kearney, and Tyson Blevins; great-grandchildren, Taylor Abrahamson, Ashton Abrahamson, Lauren Abrahamson, Brendon Abrahamson, Triston Andree, John Carter Kuehner, David Kearney, and Bradey Blevins; a sister-in-law Ruby Baird; and a niece Robyn Schroeder. A graveside funeral will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 4, in Highlandville Cemetery with Pastor James Orick officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
