Ginny Lee Orr, referred to be by her granddaughters as "Nanny Ginny", age 73 of Nixa passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017. Ginny was born in North Platte, Nebraska on November 5, 1944 to Nicholas and Virginia Anderson. On December 17, 1968, Ginny and Norman Orr were married in Germany. They were together for 45 years and had many wonderful memories together with their daughters and granddaughters. Ginny retired after working many years to take care of her granddaughters and other children in her home. She loved to spend time with her granddaughters and also the other babies that she watched. She treated them as her own and showered them with love just like she did her granddaughters. Ginny loved spending time with her family, and her family was everything to her. She loved traveling with her family, taking her granddaughters shopping and chatting with them. Ginny also enjoyed spending time with her friends, traveling to the casinos weekly, and also partaking in her various hobbies of knitting, crocheting, and sewing. Ginny also was an avid reader, and spent many hours reading from various topics and genres. She loved her Kindle and would talk about various authors and the details of the stories. Ginny is survived by a daughter Tracy Harris and husband Jeff of Nixa; daughter Sherri Peterson and husband Troy of Battlefield: four granddaughters: Morgan and Riley Harris, Haley Davis and Allison Adams; brothers Clare and Nicholas Anderson; sister Barbara Walsh. She is preceded in death by her husband, Norm: brother, Robert Anderson, and sister, Patricia Funke. Ginny was a one of a kind wife, mother, and grandmother, a strong-opinioned woman, who was very loving and would do anything she could for her family. A memorial visitation will be from 3:30 - 5:00 PM Saturday, January 13, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
