Jennifer Elaine Hames

June 12, 1962 — January 7, 2021

Jennifer Elaine Hames, 58, of Springfield, MO, passed away on January 7, 2021, in her home and surrounded by family. She was born June 12, 1962 in Albuquerque, NM; to Orville Sanders and Mary Etta Sanders. The youngest of three children, she followed behind her sister Terry, and brother, Joe. Jenny, as most everyone knew her, spent the majority of her life in Southwest Missouri. She was an accomplished business owner, applying her skills in reweaving and upholstery, and later retiring as an Administrative Assistant from Greenwood Laboratory School in Springfield, MO. Among all the titles she carried, none were more fulfilling than her role as Mom. A doting mother, she gave birth to two boys: sons Caleb, 28, and Colton, 23. Never one to complain, Jenny was known for her kind, compassionate personality, paired with an infectious enthusiasm that reverberated wherever she went. In her children, she instilled an appreciation for life and the importance of empathy; teaching them to lead with love and the value of patience. Her hobbies included cooking, baking, gardening, refurbishing boats with her late husband Brad, and like clockwork, you could find her nearly every Saturday morning, grooving to seventies music as she cleaned her home. Jenny was an avid admirer of the water, whether it was a summer camping trip at Table Rock Lake, to paddling out in her kayak, or an Alabama beachside road trip with her sister. So many of her fondest memories could be attributed to time spent out on, or near, the water. Through the years, Jenny attended the Ritter Springs Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Survivors include her sister Susan Terry Wilson (Sanders), brother Joseph Bernard Sanders and wife Margaret Lorraine Sanders, sons Caleb Nelson Sanders and Colton David Hames, grandson Brantley Michael Hames, eight loving nieces and nephews, and loyal family furball, Scruff. Jenny was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Donald Bradley Hames. Arrangements and care are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
