Juanita "Nita" Ellen Shelton

Juanita Ellen "Nita" Shelton, age 86 of Nixa, died August 20, 2020 after a long illness. She was born August 2, 1934 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the daughter of Manting Claus and Edith (Biggs) Griggs. Nita worked in accounting and had owned an accounting and tax business before retirement. She was a member of Union Hill Church of Christ in Nixa. Survivors include: her children, Tim Pate of Portland, Oregon and Kelli Pate of Nixa; four grandchildren, Ellen Marie Pate, Jennifer Patterson, Dustin Pate, Brandon Pate and a great granddaughter, Jessica Dunckle; and a great great granddaughter, Kadence Dunckle. And of course last but not least Chuck Glass. Nita was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, William Edward Pate; husband, Gary Shelton; daughter and son-in-law Vickie and Jimmy Patterson, a granddaughter, Mindy Patterson Robertson; and great grandson, Travis Alexander Patterson. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 25, 2020 in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, with Chaplain Steve Martin officiating, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
