Kenneth Fehlig

August 4, 1947 — December 11, 2015

Fehlig, Kenneth L., baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, Friday, December 11, 2015. A wonderful husband to Kathy for over 45 years, a loving, devoted father to Ryan and Kara, father-in-law to Laura and Sam, and an amazing Papa to his grandchildren, Aleksandr (9), Stella (5) and Scott (3). Brother of Carmen Heard, and preceded in death by his Mother, Irmgard Fehlig; Sister, Donna Navarette and Brother, Capt. Charles J Fehlig. Ken graduated from Southeast Missouri State University, where he was a proud member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. After college, he spent many years as a dedicated employee at Lincoln Automotive, and took great pride in his accomplishments and contributions to his field, and the relationships that he built with coworkers and customers. In his spare time, he was an avid boater, and enjoyed quiet times fishing at Table Rock Lake. He treasured his time duck and goose hunting with his family and friends. He was passionate about Labrador Retrievers, and enjoyed the discipline, teamwork and camaraderie associated with training and participating in hunt tests with his dogs, Tango and Maverick. But spending time with his family and grandchildren, no matter what the occasion, brought him the most joy. He was one of the most patriotic Americans we knew, with a deep respect for our servicemen and their sacrifice. He had a strong faith in our Lord, and felt closest to Him when surrounded by the nature that God gave us. And he always enjoyed a good laugh. His wisdom, ingenuity, work ethic and sense of humor had an indelible impact on many and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
