Marilyn Ann Prewett

June 25, 1953 — August 2, 2018

Marilyn Ann Prewett, age 65 went to be with her heavenly father on August 2, 2018 in her home after a long illness with heart problems. She was born June 25, 1953 to Orville Boyd Prewett and Joan Bilyeu Prewett. She was saved at age 12 and baptized at High street Baptist church where she was a member. Marilyn was preceded in death by her father Orville Boyd Prewett and brother Daniel (Buck) Prewett , Nephew Cody Hackler and Brother in-law Larry Ruark. She was survived by Mother Joan Bilyeu Prewett of Springfiled,Mo., her brother Curtis Dale Prewett and his wife Elaina of Norwood,Mo. and sister Beatrice Mae Ruark of Willard,Mo and nieces and nephews. She graduated from Hillcrest High School, Springfield Mo. and soon after started working for Southwestern Bell telephone as a switchboard operator and moved to Tulsa, Ok. In 1982 as cable splicer with the company after retiring from the SW Bell she owned a knife shop and her brother Daniel (Buck) and her worked at together. She also was a Cabinet maker at a woodshop and was a good worker and enjoyed working with wood materials. She lived in Oklahoma until 2012 when she moved back to Springfield, MO. She had made wonderful and longtime friends with a lot of awesome people who had helped her when she had her heart attacks and strokes. Marilyn was known for her painting and craft work, she gave many away and enjoyed doing so. In her younger years she was a camp fire girl and received the highest honor the Wohelo and worked at the camp fire girls camp as a counselor she enjoyed the outdoors and enjoyed riding horses, one in particular "Sugar" which she did so at her grandparents farm in Dixon, she was the first grandchild and had a close relationship with her Aunt Jerry and uncle Martin Crider. Marilyn had a good sense of humor and was always saying funny stuff that made everyone around her at ease and will a very caring and joy to be around. Her family will greatly miss her and is loved dearly. Her funeral will be at Glidewell Baptist Church on August 18th at 11:30am, flowers can be sent to the church or a donation for her head stone.
