Nina Hammons Batchelor

Nina Marie Batchelor, age 65, of Ozark, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014 in Oklahoma. She was born November 12, 1948 in Red Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Charles Joseph and Alta Marie (Moody) Hammons. She was a 1966 graduate of Ozark High School and a 1970 graduate of College of the Ozarks. On May 1, 1981 she and Allan Lynn Batchelor were united in marriage. Nina had worked as a medical technician at Mercy Hospital for the past 44 years. Allan and Nina shared their passion for fishing together, traveling to tournaments throughout the U.S. They enjoyed their lake home in Grove, Oklahoma, and cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean. Nina was a giving person, caring for others whenever needed. Survivors include: Her husband, Allan; her mother, Alta Hammons of Ozark; a step-son, Don Batchelor; and step-daughter, Barbara Richardson. Her father, Charles, and brother, Linsley "Bud" Hammons preceded her in death. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, August 22, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial will follow in Old Boston Cemetery, Oldfield. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 PM Thursday in the funeral home.
