Patsy Lou (Howard) Sims went to be with her Lord and Savior May 6, 2015. She was born August 27, 1938 in Ozark.
Patsy was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Emily (Abney) Press and father, Sylva L. Howard; a sister, Joan Howard; an infant brother, George Howard; and her husband Willard Efton Sims.
Survivors include a brother, Ward Howard and wife Tammy of Rogersville; children, Danny Lee Sims and wife Ruby of Ozark, Duane Efton Sims and wife Gail, Denise Ann Bresee and husband Michael of Fordland, grandchildren, Chelsea D. Euliss and husband Marcus of Sparta, Willard J. Bresee, Addilyne G. Bresee, and Grace and Job Sims; great grandchildren, Greyson R. Euliss and Emerson Reid Euliss
Patsy was a lifelong resident of Ozark. She graduated in 1956 from Ozark High School and was the first female to receive the Athletic Award. After graduating, she was united in marriage to her sweetheart Willard Efton Sims on May 21, 1957. She retired from the city of Ozark where she was water clerk. Prior to that, she worked as an editor for the Nixa Enterprise and the Ozark Headliner. She and her husband Bill owned two businesses in Ozark: Sims Service Center and Bluff Springs Mini Golf. She was the longest standing member of Hopedale Baptist Church, joining in 1966. She served on many committees, played the piano, sang in the choir, and could always be found in the third row pew piano side. She loved to travel, going on many mission trips. Her greatest thrill was her trip to Israel where she walked in the steps of her Savior.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2015 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Terry Kendrick officiating. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pleasant View (Flood) Cemetery.
