Viola A. Collins Twibell

Viola A. Collins Twibell was born October 5, 1919 in Douglas County, Missouri to George Washington Applegate and Dora Siler Applegate. She died Thursday, April 2, 2015 in her home in Ozark. Viola worked as a housewife, bowling instructor, and restaurant owner. She lived in Ozark until 1950, and then moved to Tulsa, OK, returning in 1981. She married Burl Ward Collins in 1946. Burl died in 1981 after 35 years of marriage. She married James Hubert Twibell in 1990. Jim died in 2004 after 14 years of marriage. . Viola was saved and baptized at the age of 32 and was currently a member of Countryside Christian Church, Ozark. Viola was preceded in death by her husbands, five sisters, four brothers, and a step-great-grandchild. She is survived by two sisters, Anne O'Bryan of Kansas City, MO, and Sharon McGarrah of Huntsville, AR. She is also survived by three step-sons, Jim Twibell and wife Kathy, Bert Twibell, and wife Stephanie, and Chris Twibell and wife Tina, all of Springfield, MO; and a step-daughter, Rita Windle and husband Jewel of Ozark; 10 step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and their families; and many friends. A funeral service will be 11:00am Saturday, April 4, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial will follow in Selmore Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10am until service time on Saturday.
